Power English is an English learning course I discovered back in 2012 when I used to struggle with English speaking.
It was a time when I was searching for new ways of English learning.
Today I would like to share with you my experience with Power English course and how it has helped me with confidence and fluency in speaking.
I really like English. 🙂 It has brought me so much knowledge, fun, friends, opportunities and ideas as well as introducing traveling experience to my life. And there are so many English learners like me.
In this short post, I would like to share with you a list of online English-learning resources that I have used to improve my English skills. I hope you find it useful.
Power English
A.J. Hoge, the founder of Power English, is really interesting guy! I found him by a chance on youtube when I was searching for some English learning ideas. Power English is mostly audio course that is full of fun mini stories and so-called “Point of View” stories, where A.J. tells easy stories in various tenses. What I like about the course is that you don’t study boring grammar rules – instead you listen to the same story in the past, future or present and learn grammar subconsciously. Course contains audio tracks explaining vocabulary and in the download pack you will also find videos that I really enjoyed watching. 🙂 There are many reasons why I recommend Power English. Here are a few of them: It has helped me to build my confidence in speaking and I became a fluent English speaker; The audio lessons are fun and motivate you to learn more; Also audio files arre in mp3 format, so you can listen to them on your mp3 player wherever you go.
You can also join the free course 7 Rules for Excellent English Speaking (when you sign up for the course you will get all 7 video lessons directly to your email).

British Council Learn English
Great source of free English (mostly British) materials – interesting videos, fun podcasts, language games, exercises, grammar reference and many more. It’s one of the best free sources I have ever found on the internet. If you use iTunes U, you can also find podcasts there. My favourite section of the website is Listen & Watch.
Mister Duncan
Another interesting guy, this time British. 🙂 He is english teacher who loves making videos to help people learn English. His youtube channel is full of original videos. Interesting topics, explained in a fun way, with subtitles. And free!
TED: Ideas worth spreading
Great talks (mostly) in English – interesting people sharing interesting ideas. You can select category based on your interests, listen, watch and read subtitles or transcript at the same time.
BBC – iPlayer Radio
Listen to the BBC radio online. There are several channels you can choose from based on your interests.
Oxford Dictionaries
It’s always handy to have a dictionary around 🙂
SharedTalk.com
SharedTalk.com is a website where you can find friends from different parts of the world to exchange language skills. In the registration form everyone is asked to fill in the language which you are interested to improve and which language you can teach (or is your native language). Thanks to this website I’ve found very nice people. Still in touch, having fun. 🙂
Those are the resources which I found really cool. 🙂 What are your favourite ways of learning English?
If you like this blog post, feel free to share it with your friends or give it a like. 🙂
